Mike Lawrence of Lawrence Foods in Kingston Springs has a petition you may want to sign. He needs 88 signatures from people who live inside the Kingston Springs city limits who are interested in being able to buy wine at his grocery store. As of this week, he said he had about half of the necessary signatures.

August 25th, 2016 is the last day to turn in the petition. If Lawrence is able to gather enough signatures, the question will be placed on the ballot for the November 8th, 2016 Presidential Election.

Pleasant View and Ashland City passed this referendum in the November 4th, 2014 Election. The Red, White and Foods group that circulated these petitions did not have enough signatures for Kingston Springs to be put on the ballot for that election.
In Pleasant View the referendum was approved by a 66.58% for to 33.42% against margin. However, neither of the town’s 2 grocery stores there has applied for a permit.

The results were very similar in Ashland City, with a 66.97% vote for, to a 33.03% against.
